Are you Opening Doors?

Image

Helen Keller said “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us”.  I will tell you I am very guilty of that.  Are you?  How often I have asked God why he would close certain doors.  He was so gentle in showing me the amazing doors he has opened in its place.  The other thing I have come to realize is that it is quite necessary for you to know when to close some doors.  It is so easy to let fear cause you to hold on too tight and for too long.  You just keep thinking that something is going to change so you won’t have to close that door.  Too often I have found that I must give up the struggle.  To let my heart speak for that hard head of mine and do the right thing.  You have to walk away and close the door so that you can then walk through the amazing open door to your happiness.  Unfortunately, I have found that because I chose fear over love, I have not allowed some doors to be opened.  That I was afraid to get hurt and did not give love a chance to prevail.  That I must be open to where God is taking me.  To have faith that on the other side of the door is the absolute beauty, love, joy and peace that life has to offer.  In order for me to make sure that I know which doors to close or to open I created an “absolute list”.  The purpose of the list is to know what I truly desire for my life.  To know what I absolutely must have in order for me to feel happy and loved. Developing that clarity can only come after looking deep within your heart and soul and knowing where God wants for your life.  He wants to give you the desires of your heart.  For now, I am going to choose to not focus on the closed doors.  I am going to embrace and love each and every new door that is being opened for me.  To love all the possibilities of what it will bring into my life.  I am convinced that it will be full of so much love and there will be no reason to ever look back. Let’s all go open the doors to let the beauty into our life and may it be filled with an abundance of love, joy and peace.
